RECE
(REGE 21 NOV 12
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG, 26th. October, 1912,
333
Referring to Mr. J. Chamberlain's Despatch No. 206 of 26th. September, 1899, in which he approved the lease to the Tung Wa Hospital of a site for a mortuary at a nominal rent of $1 a year, I have the honour to inform you that an application has been received from the Directors of the Hospital for an extension to their lot (Inland Lot 1572) to allow of the construction of an additional mortuary as the existing building is not large enough for present requirements.
2.
There is no objection to the proposed extension and I recommend that an additional area as shewn coloured red on the enclosed plan containing about 15,000 square feet be granted on the following terms:-
(i). The existing lease of Inland Lot 1572 to be surren-
-dered to Government and a new lease taken out to include the original area and that now applied for.
(ii). Annual Crown Rent 82 per annum.
(iii). Lessee to pay the sum of 830 for the new Crow Lease
and the sum of $6.25 for each new boundary stone required.
(iv). The lot to revert to Government in the event of its
being used for any other purpose than as a mortuary.
3.
As the matter is an urgent one, I should be
HE RIGHT HONOURABLE
LEWIS HARCOURT, M.P..
